Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has called on its lawmakers to expedite efforts to pass pending bills during the next session of parliament.

In a parliamentary party meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday, NC leaders urged swift action to ensure the passage of 15 bills currently stuck in various parliamentary committees. NC Joint General-Secretary Jeevan Pariyar stated that lawmakers discussed the status of these bills and examined the reasons behind the prolonged delays.

The party emphasized the need to prioritize legislative work and address pressing issues in the upcoming session. The recent meeting of a taskforce, comprising representatives from the NC and CPN-UML, reached an agreement to move forward with the bills, paving the way for their passage.

The NC has instructed its lawmakers to prepare thoroughly and work collaboratively to meet this legislative goal.
